How is it possible that someone hacked into my Microsoft Outlook calendar and contact list? I have McAffee Internet Security software running and the firewall activated on my Windows XP. I also have incryption on my wireless router in my home. Please advise where I went wrong and what I need to do to make my computer more secure. Do you have a recommendation for the best internet security software?

Outlook is the most hacked program in the world
One giant virus sender of nubes
Best not to use outlook express
at the least have an antivirus program – avg is fine

or nod32

antivirus programs generally do not remove spyware
use a number of antispyware programs , they all find different things
do the updates
you might want to get a router for its added security even if you have only 1 computer
Why anyone cannot learn to use a web based interface for email is beyond me
Perhaps if they were managing a large company and had 50 employees
If you must use an email client try Thunderbird

Using outlook express when it is known to be the most hacked program in the worlld , that spreads viruses to your contact list is just plain stupid and dumb simple as that .

It would help to know what happened that makes you believe your computer was hacked. You haven’t described any symptoms or problems!

first i suggest you to use thunderbird instead of outlook, thunderbird is an email client from mozilla that created firefox browser…get it from here http://www.mozilla.com
if you need a good internet security go to this linkhttp://www.toptenreviews.com/internet-se…
this is a comparison between to ten internet security.
you should have also a good antivirus like kaspersky,NOD32,and f-secure.
also having a firewall in the router is a good thing,so keep it working.

Okay, was there a link what was clicked?? Even with all the protection going clicking on links can still get one hacked. I also noticed no mention of spyware protect. That prevents any hacking that can be done through pop up adds.
Keep McAffee but get spysweeper. That program is amazing. It will prevent browers from being hi-hacked. Stops keyloggers. ect.
