Need Some Tips On Writing A Good Sci-fi Short Story?

i have this interest in writing, and would love to write a sci-fi short story. I have already attempted to do this, and failed miserably, at least in my opinon i failed. I am working on a short story, but it isn’t sci-fi. I would like to work on a second short story and make it sci-fi. Do you have any advice on how to write a really good sci-fi short story? Any particular novels or authors I should check out? I’m currently reading Neuromancer by William Gibson. Anyways, do you have any useful advice for me? Particular for cyberpunk writing?

Science fiction must reach to the limits of the fantastic while still being gounded in the realm of plausability. What marks sci-fi from fantasy is the since that it could without having to suspend reality (bend it, or give it new dimentions but never suspend or discard it). Everything must have a base or an explaination even if it is never stated in story itself. A fantasy writer can pull something up out of thin air, their focus is on the effects. A sci-fi writer looks at how to pull something through thin air, their ultimate goal maybe the effect but what they truly invest in is the cause.
